Genk C-mine
For the former mining site Winterslag in Genk (Belgium) this price winning design was made (for the "open oproep" of the Flemish Chief Architect). The whole complex is transformed into a cultural centre of which the square is the cultural heart with space for spectacle, that binds the former industrial buildings and the newer ones together. Big areas of dark anthracite coloured Belgian slate in various sizes, the specifically design sitting element (together with Carmela Bogman), the special lighting and the water features ensure the special character.
Project done at HOSPER, Genk C-mine 2006-2016 with Hanneke Kijne as Projectleader and head designer
